Well established Cooperative with a solid strategy

Campos de Lepe is the example of a reliable cooperative performing well, even in a year as bad as this one for Huelva strawberries. 

Sometimes, we find that cooperatives are not as quick adopting innovations as private owned companies, but that is not the case in Campos de Lepe, having a long established network both in local and European market.

We met Antonio Rodriguez, who was happy to introduce to us the business strategy of Campos the Lepe, meant to keep its associates safe from the market fluctuation with a clear strategy: do not put all eggs in the same basket. Simple and effective as that.
Diversify: This is understood in a very comprehensive sense, and in all steps of the process. First step is encouraging growers to get away from more common varieties of strawberry and look for the ones that may be more valuable in the markets.

Obeikan packaging system has helped to create this state-of-the-art staging, but of course the star is the high quality strawberry of Lepe.

This cooperative also packs a variety of other brands and formats, keeping diverse well balanced business lines.
